Modules
As a modular suite, WinDes® enables you to select the elements most suited to your immediate requirements, with the flexibility to introduce additional modules as they are needed. At the same time, the full integration of the modules means that you can produce a complete drainage system, incorporating pipes, open channels, attenuation and SUDS, in one model

Pluvius
A joint project between MD & the Met Office. Pluvius uses the Met Office database containing over 700 years of rainfall data across the UK and enables engineers and hydrologists to extract/interpolate site specific rainfall data to test the performance of drainage and hydrological networks using continuous analysis.
Channel
Channel is a Back Water Step Method for determining the water levels in Open Channels. It is suitable for gradually varying flows in channels of reasonably uniform cross section where the flow is sub-critical.
MDCAD
A full AutoCAD® interface, enabling you to create and edit a drainage layout in AutoCAD before exporting it for detailed design and analysis in WinDes®.
Note: A full version of AutoCAD® is required to work with MDCad, for AutoCAD® LT users see DrawNet.
DrawNet
DrawNet gives you the ability to design drainage systems simply by drawing them, rather than entering data into spreadsheets and then producing drawings. It is a complete drawing package that can exchange files with all leading CAD & Road design packages, including AutoCAD® LT and PDS. With DrawNet, you can take files from the drawing office, enter the drainage design and return the file with your system fully optimised and analysed by WinDes®.
Relevant training course:
SYSTEM1
The core modules: Storm, Foul, Schedules and Longsection. For the design of storm and foulwater drainage layouts, including manhole scheduling and Longsection plotting. Ideal for road infrastructure and industrial/housing development work.
Relevant training course:
QuOST
Completes taking-off and pricing. Enables quick comparison of the cost implications of alternative designs and provides a running total to assist budget management as you design the network.
CASDeF
The most powerful drainage tool ever developed for engineers. Combines an audit trail of results with recommendations for specific solutions to problems, such as flooding or overflow activation. The CASDeF Wizard provides automated post-processing to validate designs for all applicable events. You can also use CASDeF in conjunction with Source Control to optimise SUDS sytems.
Relevant training course:
SIMULATION
Tests the network for ultimate loads, identifies the ultimate capacity and flood risk. The module includes simple drag-and-drop placement of online and offline controls.

Source Control
Assists compliance with the drive by SEPA and the Environment Agency towards sustainable urban drainage systems (SUDS). Source Control also supports Mandatory Requirement H3 of the Building Regulations, referring to rainwater drainage. It provides a complete analysis and design solution, integrating infiltration techniques seamlessly with conventional design solutions. You can also use Source Control in conjunction with APT to calculate and model the runoff from existing greenfield sites.

FloodFlow
Provides graphical 2D overland flood flow modelling to identify depth, velocity and direction of overland flows. The module enables synchronised analysis of both above & below ground flows to demonstrate the effects of critical storms and provides the capability to analyse the capacity of the major and minor systems to accommodate them. FloodFlow can identify ridge lines & sink points, when combined with DrawNet, to highlight optimum gulley positions and uses a range of modes to;

Advanced Productivity Tools (APT)
Adds full 3D graphics, together with Wizards that provide quick and simple completion of laborious tasks, including analysis of a range of storm durations and return periods in a single run. Assists compliance with Sewers for Adoption in England, Wales and Scotland, including the plotting of flood flow paths. In conjunction with Source Control, APT enables you to produce Unit Hydrographs.
